JUST BY LOOKING AT THE # OF THESE IN LAS VEGAS YOU CAN TELL IT'S NOT VERY GOOD. WHEN I WENT I ORDERED THE SPECIAL-BBQ CHICKEN & 2 SIDES-I DIDN'T KNOW 2 SIDES MEANT RICE & MAC SALAD BUT OH WELL. THIS WAS THE FURTHEST THING FROM BBQ I EVER HAD. THERE WAS NO BBQ IT WAS ICKY AND STRANGE. I WOULD NEVER RETURN & HAVEN'T SINCE THEY FIRST CAME TO VEGAS 3-4 YEARS AGO. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL HAWAIIAN FAST FOOD PLACES & THEY ARE AWFUL. WE WILL TRY THE HAWAIIAN FESTIVAL IN SEPTEMBER TO BRING OUR READERS SOME AUTHENTIC HAWAIIAN CUISINE. THE ONE I VISITED IS IN AN OLD TACO BELL BUILDING-VERY STRANGE ALL THE WAY AROUND.
It is HAWAIIAN BBQ Not Texas or N. Carolina. You judge the entire chain based on one experience. All of them are franchises. They are all a little different. I would not suggest the BBQ chicken for the first time anyway. Try the Kalbi or the Chicken Katsu. and P.S. The best one in town that I have tried is the one on Nellis. The seaweed salad and the Ahi poke are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteL&L is great! You have to understand Hawaiian Style to really get this. In Hawaii there are Plate Lunch restaurants everywhere. Locals love their plate lunch, it always comes with rice and macaroni salad, always. My husband is from Aeia on Oahu, he will drive an hour to get the food, only thing he doesn't like is he can't get poi on the Mainland.
