BALLOONAPALOOZA III featuring hot air balloons, a carnival, circus show, and live music. 'IT TAKES A VILLAGE' ANTI-VIOLENCE CELEBRATION featuring free carnival games, a poster contest, jump house, balloon artist and face painting 6-7 p.m. today at Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St. A basketball game with law enforcement and city of Las Vegas staff will be at 7 p.m. followed with a peace rally by Operation Lasting Peace. The event will also feature Buffalo Soldiers and their horses, the Jam Squad and Pop Warner cheerleaders and free hot dogs and sodas while supplies last (229-6374).

Kid’s Day at The District is a day for the kids to play, and it’s all free! There will be carnival style games, face painters, a caricature artist, balloons, and more. The day includes live music and entertainment from Marble Canyon, the all-kid band, and a magician. Plus, guests can register to win a kids-sized electric Mercedes Benz from Fletcher Jones Imports. The day wraps up with an Outdoor Picture Show screening of The Simpson’s Movie.
