I was suprised I had never been here before since I lived in the neighborhood the last 5 years. This is a cute little shack with a drive-thru and small patio area located in the Food4Less shopping center.
They have a great menu with a variety of fries and fried appetizers, philly cheesesteaks,ribeye steak sandwiches,pastrami,hotdogs,sausages,smotthies,shakes,fresh lemonade & more.
The prices are alittle on the high side but the portions are enormous.
I ordered the LA Pastrami,a Patty Melt and a Sabretts Hot Dog plus some Garlic Romano Fries and a Large Lemonade. $28!
The food was good. Pastrami was huge and pretty good. The patty melt was great-good rye-fresh beef. The hot dog had snap and was one of the best I've had.The fries were Fantastic- crisp and flavorful!
I'll try the ribeye sandwich & a fruit smoothie next time!!
They have opened up another one on Tropicana about a block west of Eastern with indoor seating. This place has been one of my favorites for a long time. I found out about the one on Decatur about 3 years ago from The Travel Channel.
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so glad that I found Sammy's Pastrami. The pastrami here is huge and delicious. The place is tiny but the food is amazing.
